Lc. Angel Love x skinneri (update)

This was my first compact catt. I have had issues with black rot. Leaves turn black like a rotten banana peel. Have cut back back to good living tissue. Sprinkled with cinnamon and sprayed with Physan. I finally got this first bloom in what seems like forever. This happened every time with just about every new growth. Even had to cut the sheath. Somehow this time the bud hadn't started developing or maybe it was just wanted to make a come back When this is done blooming am going to repot and see what happens. Whatever it is not infecting my other orchids. This little chid has a strong desire to survive.

The bloom

If you look on the stem you can see a bad spot starting. Optic, aka Fat Cat checking for fragrance

The whole plant. You can see where I have done a couple of whack jobs. Fat Cat is such a ham.

It is very pretty, glad it is making a comeback. I have one Catt. Copper Queen that was really bad after scale and I didnt think it would live, it bloomed this summer anyway. There were only two and they were smaller than normal but the girl did it!

I know basically how a catt gets black rot by getting water down inside the leaves and not letting it dry out. But I never got any water inside the leaves or sheaths The only thing I guess I can do is hold onto this for right now and look for another healthy one just like it. Whatever it is it'snot effecting my other prchids

I am surprised it survived. I am going to repot and will make sure that everything is good and clean. I will soak in some Physan just to make sure. I have noticed today the black spot on the stem is getting darker and bigger

So I can save it. I love the color It's a very light frosty lavendar blush.

Here she is in all her spelendar
