Sick Zygo

Last weekend I moved my my african voilets and little Zygo over from my mother's where it had been sitting under her carport. I put it in the greenhouse with my Phals and A.V's but after 2 days I noticed the poor thing looked like it got sunburnt at the top of the leaves, I've since put shadecloth in this area but too late for this poor fella.

However looking at the plant now that I moved it inside for some TLC it seems like something else is happening to it, the roots still look OK and a new tiny leaf doesn't seem to be affected but others, included another smaller leaf have gone brown from the bottom up and some have met the sunburn so the whole leaf is almost brown.

I don't want to throw it out but should I cut back all these brown leaves, repot it and cross my fingers? Strange that it's sat in a carport for over a month but after just a few days this happened

There is no way for me to say for sure what could be going on but I have to say it looks like it could also be black rot, or possibly bacterial rot, from your pictures. A plant with black rot can deteriorate rapidly once it starts to show symptoms. It is also highly contagious and can spread via water.

It could be sunburn but it's hard to tell from pictures. Regardless of what the issue is I would isolate it from your other plants immediately and make sure no water touches that the Zygo can splash or flow out from it's pot to nearby plants. If it is black rot it will more than likely need to be carefully disposed of . If it's sunburn only time will tell if it can come back from all the burn.

Bit of an update: The black went all the way through the plant, I pulled it out of the pot and discovered it was pretty much dead but all isn't lost, I noticed a small green leaf and there was a tiny plant that seemed to escape it. It's now in a bag of spagnum for a few days until I can give it a good soak in Condy's crystals to kill anything that might still be there before replanting it... but at least I've been able to save something

Bit of an update. The small green shoot that I saw at the bottom of the plant died but there was another tiny plant growing right along side it, only one small shoot but it had a good root system... I potted it out and this is it today
