Vanda looks like it has a fungus.

I have a Vanda Orchid, not sure what kind or any details. It has always had these black scars on its leaves, and as the new leaves develop they too get the marks. At first i thought it might be sunburn but the area it is in gets no direct sunlight this time of year. Im hoping i can get some help identifying the issue so hopefully i can see it bloom. It seems to be sending out a spike but i see along it where the spikes go dormant very early.

Hi, I am not an expert but one thing that springs to mind is that water/damp is accumulating at the leaf joints (which is why they are darker) I would try and find a way in which any water sitting there evaporates really quickly..this would avoid the leaf tissue staying too wet. This is also where spikes emerge from. If you solve this you will very probably see a spike(s) forming. Good Luck & keep us posted!

Looks like a type of leaf rot to me. Make sure that you try to water it in the mornings so that it has all day to dry out. If you have to water at night/late in the day, try to just get the roots wet and avoid getting the leaves wet.... I have fans on mine all night so if I do happen to water them the fans will help them dry out.

try putting the plant 2 feet above ground. Your growing area could have been very high humidity .

Hmm.. I'm no vanda expert by any means but I know that they need a lot of light. In the picture you seem to have it growing next to a chinese evergreen, a coleus and a fern all plants that are happiest in partial shade. This is not enough light for a vanda. The yellowing leaves may also suggest this. Have you tried moving it to a brighter location and getting it off the ground to improve air flow as mentioned earlier

When you water you need to make sure that the the leafs and leaf joints dry out- An idea is to absorb the humidity with a bit of kitchen paper towel Works really well! Good Luck!

What i did was to move it to an area where it gets plenty sun. the new leaves have been free from the rot so far and the root growth has been quite good. hoping for some blooms this year. the advice i have gotten so far has made the vandas very happy!! thanks
