Physan 20 disposal

Hi everyone,

I had purchased a bottle of Physan 20 a month ago and have not used it because I was not sure how to properly dispose of the diluted solutions. On the bottle it says not to discard solutions into sewage systems and it's harmful to fish and I should notify the sewage treatment plant. How does everyone hear discard their diluted solutions?

Siriusmk, why through it out...just use the solution until it's gone. The solution should last for quit awhile.

I guess I wasn't clear. What I had meant was after i use Physan 20 on my orchids is it safe to just dump the used diluted solution down the sink? or is it better to dump into the backyard. I just don't want to do anything to harm the enviornment.

Your question has realy had me working the net out.

I see that Physan is NOT to be released into the water system at all.

So i guess putting it down the sink is out.

What I would do is dig a small hole down the back yard and with all the left over just tip that in.

By doing that I dont think that would hurt anything.

my advice only

Siriusmk, got ya, your talking about the excess run off after the application I assume. If thats the case...as Fred said, you can dig a hole or better yet, just broadcast it over the lawn. This is used for different diseases in lawns as well as plants. It surly won't hurt anything. Just thought you might want to put it to good use.

Info below was taken from the Physan 20 web site.

Lawn - Grass - Dichondra - for Control of Certain Fungal Diseases and Rusts
1 pint of concentrate diluted treats 6,400 square feet. Controls the following fungal diseases: Algae, Dollar Spot, Fading-Out, Fairy Ring, Leaf Spot, Rust,. Sclerotium rolfsii, Toad Stools. Spray with PHYSAN 20 solution at a rate of 5 gallons solution per 1,000 square feet of turf. Be sure all surfaces or grass are treated and the area is thoroughly soaked with solution. When disease reappears, repeat application.

Thank you for your response. I had to resort to using my physan 20 yesterday because of some really sick and infested miltoniopsis I had received. I ended up discarding the used solution outside near some shrubs and hopefully it will not end up in the water system. Although i'm sure eventually it'll find its way.
