Exclamation Green boring pests - Aphids

I just realised that half my indoor Cyms are infested with these highly annoying Green Aphids.

Ive used the best stuff ever, however they still coming back in lesser amount and smaller critters - and seeing the black ones now after 3 days. Maybe I should just be patient and re-spray and let the stuff kick in with the babies!

I tried tending some jumping spiders, but i just cant find enough of these guys:

Just wondering how you or other people control these critters?

If you have a dirt-like media, mix some granular rose systemic in the top layer. Very effective. Ants often bring the aphids so it is good to control the ants until the systemic kicks in. Good luck!

Aphids are easy. I usually just hose the affected plant down to physically remove them.
Then I monitor and repeat hosings when necessary.

That obviously is dependent on the season for me. :P Otherwise I just go at them with alcohol on a q-tip.

HI Newbie, and welcome to the forum. You are in the right place! Anyway those bugs do not look like aphids to me. They are to large and the legs to long and skinny. They look like some type of spider. The photo was not that clear so I could not count the legs. A high pressurre wash should get them off, but might do damge to the blooms. I would do a really good physical ckeck and remove/squish any that I found. Aphids also usually are in a close cluster on the buds. Good luck. A close up of the critters might help. Nancy

i tried Neem Oil, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, Soap and water, lady bugs, mycoforce, melathion ...
all works . You should give it a try. U normally have to repeat after 2 days and do weekly spray to keep them at bay.

Argh, this little critters annoy me -- check again today after work and they are back.

Ants are not a problem as none are found indoors, and will try all the suggestions as suggested by everyone one-by-one.

DigitalGates comments and recommendation sounds like a love potion - although will definitely give them a try if I can find them in Aus as I have never heard of any of them bar the soap and lady bug.

They were originally in large clusters, however as I have been picking/squishing them daily, they seem to just disperse

I have attached 3 different aphid photos - not too good of a quality as my HTC just cannot zoom in that close, hopefully its somewhat visible.

I swear the black one looks like a flea, but it doesn't squish like one - you dont get that satisfying popping sound like a flea does?!?!

All three of those are definitely aphids. As my entomology professor used to say, they have two "exhaust pipes" on their butts (actually called cornicles).
A very descriptive and effective analogy!

Hi Filb, thanks for the confirmation and analogy - easy to remember .

I will be reviewing what experts have suggested and will start with the most environmentally friendly manner possible - cause its usually the easiest and least effort on my side once I get/fin/steal those LB's from somewhere!

I do the same as Rachel mentioned...
They actually make hose nozzle's designed to help with issues like this, but the ones with multiple settings work well too. Occassionally I get them on some potted flowers I keep outdoors for the summer, a quick shot of the hose using the shower or center spray position usually does the trick... I'll use the more direct settings on the hose for a power wash on foilage.
