White larvae /bugs in water from orchid pot

Hello,
I have 2 orchids for 2 years now and they are doing awesome.
I just bought a 3rd one at the albert heijn, a supermarket in holland.
And now i discovered that in the water dripping from the pot. The water had been standing under the orchid for a few days and i assume the bugs too. there are loads of tiny white bugs or larvae. I made a few macro photos of them. I hope someone can tell me what they are, what they might become and what i can do about it and if my other orchids are at risk.

The move slowly and jerky in the water but every now and then i see them jumping positions really quickly, kinda like fleas or something.

And if i am better off taking my new orchid back to the supermarket or if i can keep it and treat it.

This new orchid has moss or sphag in the pot unlike my other orchids who just have woodchips in it. Could the moss be a breeding ground for the pest and am i better off taking it out?

My other orchids flourish and they dont have any moss in the pot. I soak them about once a week or whenever they get too dry in the water for a few hours with a tiny bit of orchid fertilizer.

I can't help you with this but let me just say that is Creepy! I would say treat it but there are experts on there that can tell you what you need to do.

I just saw that one of my other orchids have it too!
Possibly they all have em!

I found out what they are...
Springtails! In another topic in this forumpart someone had what described how they acted and i googled it and they look exactly the same.
Could be that my other orchids had them, or the potting mix from the supermarket had them, no way to tell really.

Mosquito larvae and pupae are legless until they emerge as adults. I agree with the first suggestion that they are springtails. I believe most feed on fungal spores and other microbes.

I'm not sure but I was thinking dragonfly larvae a they do have legs and defined eyes in stages in ponds which I have seen first hand but much bigger than what you have currently. So I don't know exactly what they are.

Springtails jump around, especially after being watered. They look like tiny white threads, and usually thrive in decaying medium. Soapy water applied several times a few days apart should take care of them. Once you know they've been eradicated, change the medium.
