Orchid on Death bed (I think)

My orchid had two shoots, bloomed once after I brought it home from the store. Leaves are big and green but the shoots have both turned yellow and dried up. Is there any hope for it and what measures should I take to bring it back to life.

I agree that we need pics to be sure. But that being said, it sounds like you have an ever popular phalaenopsis that had two spikes (shoots) that were carrying flowers. Once the flowers die off, the spikes will either stay green or some will turn yellow/brown and die back. This does not mean that the plant is unhealthy. It is just the natural time for those spikes to be done and new ones should grow in the next blooming season if it is given proper culture.

I will try and get a pic posted soon. There are some roots that are beginning to shoot up. This is my first Orchid so I am learning as we go. The new leaves lead me to believe that it is not a total loss.
