| black spots on cymbidium leaves
Anyone can tell if this is a disease? Will aspirin spray will help? Or should I cut off the leaves. (?) thanks.

Could be a fungal problem or to me it looks like a virus. Anyway I would burn the plant as it will only spread to your entire collection.

i take a more conservative approach, i would isolate the plant, and treat with systemic insecticide, and with a strong bacteriacide.....and give it 6 months.....

Thanks dounoharm. I may give the plant a chance. Ron thinks it maybe fungus or virus. Can anyone recommend any mild anti fungus/virus spray I can try? thanks. |

The plant looks healthy and the flowers beautiful so I would do as dounoharm suggests. To me it looks like sun burn but it is hard to tell by a photo. Best of luck |

Looks like it has had a bad mite or scale infestation at some point and consequently has developed a fungal disease due to this.

 black spots on leaves
I have some Cyms with these spots on the leaves and hasn't affected the plant at all, the new growth seems to be growing with no marks on the leaves at all. I would just isolate it and keep watching
|

Some of the older leaves on my onc. have a few spots like that. The new growth is spot free and it seems to be growing well. I thought it was sunburn spots.  The flowers are beautiful. I would probably move it away from the others, and trim off the affected leaves, and watch it for a while.

Are you certain it hasn't received too much light/sunburn? I have some cyms that this happened to and some of the leaves look similar. New growth looks perfectly fine. My 2 cents - If you are concerned at all I'd also just isolate and see what the new growth does. Once you get enough new growth to support the plant remove the worst of the leaves for aesthetic purposes.

| My CYMBs have the same thing
I have the same black spots/streaks on my plants. I have no idea what they are. If you find anything which works, please let me know!
