Hello dear Geeks,

Hello Dear Friends,
I have two Orachid flowers that I'm trying to save.
their Roots were rotting, so I cut them, i have attached pictures where you can see that a small flower is without roots at all (I soaked it Achenmon). The second flower a little better.

I'm new here please and i dont know the write terminalogy.
Can I also put cinnamon on the second flower or leave it like that?
What steps to save the flowers?

I'd really appreciate your help

you mean you are trying to regrow a plant from the flower spike? That is impossible for orchids unless they have roots of their own. If you are referring to putting cinnamon on flower spike after you have cut the dead flower away. Then that would not be a problem.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "flower", if they are wilting that should be normal depending on how long your plant has been in flower.

You have 2 Phalaenopsis orchids: I've attached a link to the AOS for your reference on their care requirements.
AOS | Phalaenopsis

If you look under the Orchid Care Cultivation section of the website you will find some helpful "sticky" threads to help assist you with the rootless Phalaenopsis. There are many threads regarding reviving phals, much of which is relative and such dependent on individual preference and growing conditions.
http://www.orchidgeeks.com/forum/orc...e-cultivation/

The second set of photo's with roots looks to be on the road to recovery already and can be potted up with the medium of your choice. Please feel free to post any question you may have.

you have a small chances of reviving the plant. Try sphag and bag method.

You can try sphag in small pot and squeeze out the sphag so its just damp. You might use a rooting hormone in the water you dipped the sphag into then squeezed out to just damp. Pot it up in the sphag and put a baggie over the pot but slit the side to let some air into the little green house tent you made. As the sphag starts to dry just dampen lightly. It it pulls through and makes new roots this will take months by the way if it even does and doesn't end up rotting..... If you have a flower spike on it you need to cut that and put cinnamon on the cut area. It needs to focus on making roots. You can put the cut flower spike in a vase of water and enjoy your bloom that way.
Hope this helps

The first orchid looks like there are no roots or maybe a nub of one starting. It may be able to be saved, but it will be a slow and long process. The 2nd one looks a bit better with a good root. I would pot that one in a small pot with a good draining mix, reduce watering and place in a lower light area and leave it. The first one if you are going to try and save it, again, a very small pot with good draining mix. soak it in superthrive, pot it up, give it a sip of water and leave it be for a couple weeks before watering again, but again when you water just a sip. I also would cover what leaves there are with a baggie loosley to help retain some moisture.

First, welcome!

Second, from the photos, it looks to me like your plants want to live. Follow advice you'll find here elsewhere, and I'm sure you'll have success with at least some of them. Check out the Orchid Forums and you'll find lots and lots of good advice.

Third, your English is fine, eh? (I live across the river from Canada, eh?) Hope you'll later tell us about how you got from Israel to Canada!

Finally, be really, really careful about reading posts (and looking at photos) from here...you are in danger of becoming addicted like the rest of us!!
