Has anyone used this product?

Ok, so now I have a huge mealie problem on several paphs and Malthion isn't working. I went in search of Bayer Rose and Flower insect spray but couldn't find it, so I bought Ortho Rose Pride Insect Killer. It has acetamiprid in it and it claims to be a systemic. Before I take the plunge and spray I'm looking for input on how well it works and how safe it is for the chids. I have several phrags that are coming in bloom and I don't want to lose them. The infested paphs were next to them and I want to spray the whole shelf.

I use alcohol on a q-tip to get rid of them.

I remove all the ones I can see and spray the plant with Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap and water. It's a natural way to go, and these little buggers don't like the soapy water.......but the chid doesn't mind.....I try not to use chemicals.....
I hope you win the war soon.....

The alcohol on the qtip isn't working for me because of how far in the fans they heve gotten. Those nasty buggers are so making me mad. I've repotted just two weeks ago to make sure they've been removed from the medium and soaked the plants in Malthion. Its not working anymore and I suspect that I've built a resistant population. Darn.......

I had one Paph with these almost 2 months ago I used brookin's recipe and added 15 drops of 70 percent rubbing alcohol and I haven't seen a single one again yet.
The bayer 3 in 1 I found it at home depot haven used it yet but got it in case I ended up going that route. Brookin's recipe is in the thread in the forum and is a sticky under pest and diseases calle "the best stuff ever!!!!" Hope this helps

I've used pyrethrum before, and plunged the whole pot, as they get around the roots. Worked well, although I did have to red-dip a couple.

The word is if a product is good for roses it's good for orchids.
