Are spiders ok?

Are they? because i found a little tiny spider on the top of on of my phals on the potting mix, i took him off but should i be worried? do they do any harm?

i was thinking they might do good because they can kill the other insects.

Always allow spiders to live; they will not harm your plants, they only 'eat' insects. (Except for the big spiders which will eat reptiles, birds etc. but you will not find any large eight legs on your orchids)

From what I rememeber, Spiders depend on other insects and animals.
I always move them else where because their webs often confuse with spider mites.
I keep my orchids indoors so not muich bugs

spiders are definitely ok. i used to have a gnat problem. now i don't. all thanks in part to a spider that lives among my orchids. her web is usually at the base close to the media where the gnats are anyway so you don't get unsightly cobwebs.

it's the best 'green' solution i know of, rather than resorting to pesticides.
