I would check under the leaves and on any new growth to make sure it isn't pests causing this. Curly leaves on the new growth of soft-leaved, non-orchids often mean aphids. Since dends have soft leaves, I'd check.

it also could be a combination of water and chemical burn. A strong chemical like alcohol (80% purity) or pesticides could have come in contact and the plant is placed in the hot sun , burned the leave. Couple with lack or low watering enhance the effect of chemical burn. Good news is the plant will recover from the stress but that leaf that is burned will wilt and drop off. Dont worry ... be happy... The other type of curling would be mechanical damage during transportation which young shoot is very sensitive to. young and tender shoot can be damaged even with a slight touch. |

What color are the leaves? A bright yellow green may indicate too much light, and the leaves are curling away from it. I had this happen when the plant was outside. As mehitabel says, check the underside of the leaves by wiping a damp cotton ball across them. If you see any specs on the cotton, you have an insect problem. As Katrina says, it can be a hydration problem. Step up the watering. Water very well and then let the plant dry out before watering again. They say you can't give an orchid too much water, but you can water too often. And finally, as digitalgate says, it could be a chemical burn. Too much strong fertilizer, perhaps? |
