Some damage on Phal leaves?

I was given a Phal after it finished its blooms a few months ago from my local florist. They couldn't sell it without the blooms so all the ones that they cannot sell, they will leave them aside for me. But when i was checking out one of them, i noticed some leaf damage, i think from scales. The only thing was, when the new leaves form they get the same dented circular dot. Its dry. I have been using white oil and mancozeb to treat it. They stay the same size, but somehow they spread to other leaves. I have them growing in my bathroom where its very humid. Other plants are ok, but only this guy. Its still healthy because its bloomed twice already. I have also noticed a few Phals with purple leaves, the entire leaf and the underside has turned purple. I heard it might be a lack in some micro-nutrients.

Regards
Stephen

Oedema? I've never seen it in person, nor have I seen what you have going on. But, it sounds at least plausible, and worth checking out:
Oedema Factsheet

The "purpling" could be nutrients, could be a sign of high light, or it could be just something that plant does. There's a newish thread bangin around about this very topic.

Happy growing!
Chris

I can't imagine what it would be that are dry spots that don't increase in size but reappear on every new leaf like that. They look to me like minor damage from something that dripped on it, or that sort of thing. Have you gotten them on more than one new leaf? Since it's in your bathroom, could it be damage from a spray someone is using?

Whatever it is, I wouldn't "keep treating" it with the same stuff. The damage that's done won't be erased by more treatments. You have to wait for more new leaves to see if whatever the cause was is gone now. I'd wipe the leaves down carefully with soapy water in case some pest is lingering, then let it be, see how things go when it gets a couple of new leaves, and replan at that point.

Purple leaves-- the commonest cause of purple leaves on phals in my experience is heredity-- lots of dark purples, pinks and even whites with a pink blush have leaves that are purple on the bottom.

Never seen anything quite like this before either. My first guess was also some sort of "chemical" burn? Have you repotted in fresh sphag since the damage was done? As already noted, I'd wash down the entire plant top and bottom with soapy water including the root system and repot into fresh media (unless you've already done this). THEN watch your new growth as it comes in and if you see anything on the small developing leaves - this would be the time to again react. If you see anything suspicious take another closeup pic and post.
