New Orchid Owner

My girlfriend and I were just given a orchid, within the first few days one of the stalks leaves started growing mold spots and the leaves turned yellow. The other stalk, is flowering and seems fine.

Should we be concerned? And if so what should we do?

mold is generally a sign of too wet conditions with lack of air movement. what kind of orchid is it? new orchids often have an adjustment period where a leaf or bloom may suffer.

If it is a Dendrobium, this is the time of year that the shed leaves if they are going to. So, there may be nothing wrong if it is a Dendrobium.

yeah i had the same problem a last week but it was cause i didn't notice that the water was collecting in the pot around it, but lucky enough i noticed and emptied the water out and now it's been dry for two days *was starved of water for going 6 maybe 7 dayz* i have some black spots on some leaves i'm still a bit worried about that formed wen it was drowning but i hoping that it's going to be ok i lost a leaf that went yellow and looked a bit burnt it fell off but everything seem to have stabilized and i'm going to re-pot it in three dayz.....i have also just received my orchid so it has maybe been going through an adjustment period duhdog pointed out.....
