Snails

I was really excited that my Mini Mark Hohlm spiked. Yesterday I was just pissed cause a snail ate the spike. When I brought my plants in I looked and looked for those critters and found NONE. Put out some beer this morning do try and drown the little bas----. Actually found one just now and squeezed his little guts out. Left there as a warning to the others. HUMPH

This has just made me remember when I was about 5 and trying to help out my mum in the garden, she used to chuck all the snails over the fence into the neighbours garden and one day the neighbour was out in the garden and complaining about how many snails she had, so I piped up 'when my mum finds snails she chucks them into your garden'!! Never seen my mum go so red! I have just rang her to remind her of this and had a good old chuckle about LOL!!
Can't really give you any advice apart from put salt down and chuck them into your neighbours garden!

I have a phal that blooms in hugh sprays of very large white flowers.
This past spring I could not see the plant for the flowers.
A snail had made it's home in the pot.
It had eaten about 4-5 leafs before I knew I had a problem.
I HATE snails

Here is what they can do if you are not vigilant.

I gave a couple of little miltoniopsis from C & H an overnight soak, and the next day getting ready to pot them up, found a snail hunkering high on one of the leaves (trying to keep his bottom out of the water, I think). Maybe soaking the pot will drive them out?

There's a moral here, too. I took all the soil off those little miltps before soaking, and I didn't see that snail at all til I found him on the leaf. One reason for soaking things for at least a half hour or so when getting new 'chids.
