Looks can be decieving

Man oh man, where do I begin? I think we all love this hobby and try our best to keep the plants top notch. I mean the time and care we put into it is so gratafying when we see that a plant is thriving. I have many plants spanning the generas and try to inspect and get ahead of any problems. So you can imagine my utter disbelief when repotting this plant today (C. Chocolate drop 'kodama')-one of my favorites with plump bulbs, nice thick tough leaves and great roots. Cutting the rhizome, i noticed this-RED in the rhizome.
Isn't this a symptom, no, a surefire sign of FUSARIUM WILT? I just can't bring myself to tossing the plant, it seems so healthy. I've cut out most of the red, bathed it in physan, and changed media and bark. If it is FUSARIUM, isn't just a matter of time before the plant dies?

Pictures show how healthy the plant seems until you look at the red in the rhizome

G'Day elitebettas

I have done quite a lot of reading on fusarium wilt and have seen no mention of orchids as being one of the hundred odd plants that suffer from this fungus. ( I was researching for tomatoes) I would be interested to read your source if you could supply it thanks.
Also it is fusarium wilt be careful how you dispose of the old potting medium.
Please keep us posted on how you go.

Cheers
Bernie
