Help again! Brown end on Phrag leaf

Hello,

I recently got this Phrag at an AOS auction, it had some browning on the edge of a leaf. I cut the brown part off and put cinnimon on the edge and the spot came back. The rest of the plant looks good - is this anything to worry about? And if so, what should I do?? I attached a close-up of the spot and one of the entire plant. Thanks for your help!

It looks like an old leaf. I think maybe it is just dying off naturally.

I don't think you have too much to worry about . I agree with kmarch just an old leaf. The rest of the plant looks nice. It looks like a spike coming out , we would like pics when it blooms ok?

We had a guest speaker on phrags a while back, and i think, i could be wrong, but i think he said that phrags are sensitive to fertilizer although they do benefit from it, i think he sid he only fertilizes them once every two months and adds lime to the mix when he makes new batches for them. I think he said thats why the tips turn brown faster than most other orchids like phals and dens and catts and paphs. I could be way off on that as i am only going off of memory though lol.

whew! thanks for the good news, I also remember something about them being touchy when it comes to fertilizing. If my memory serves me correctly the ferts should be way lighter than on phals etc and to be sure to flush out the medium with regular water. I'll have to do some more reading and refresh my memory! Yep - its in spike - heres a pic
