green mold i think

i have a quite a bit of green mold growing on the inside of the pot and on the roots along the outside of the pot i have 5 phals and 3 of them have this i just water once week and they get just the perfect amount of light and are growing fantastic! all just about in full bloom now 10 flowers or so. Should i wait till they are done flowering and just repot and clean them up. The pot just about completely dries out after 7 days before the watering so its not like they are to wet, and the pots do drain ill try and get some pics up soon just wondering if any of you have had this problem

sound like you have moss instead of mold /mold. which is good news. It is better not to do anything as moss do not affect plant . They do however, absorb fertilizer. It is not a problem just fertilizer 3 time instead of 2 time a week. (that is if you use weak but frequent fertilizing regiment). if you try to remove the moss you might damage the roots.

It's sounds like alge to me. If so it won't harm your orchid. I especially see alge growing on clay pots quite often.

Yeah, it's alge, nothing to be very concerned about. Some folks are of the opinion that alge steals fertilizer and that well may be true but as far as I know it's no danger to the orchid.

Hi
Personally I would not worry too much.
It will do no harm, might look a bit yukky that all.
I have been told too use a very weak dose of pool algecide flushed through the mix.
Myself personally I would just repott them as they seem to love being repotted.
Cheerio
Ron

It's growing in the pot because it receives light. If you want to get rid of it just put the plastic pot in an opaque one.
But I wouldn't worry too much, my Phals have algae in their pots and I see no harm done. Even though I repot and clean it, after a few weeks, there it is again.
Your bark seems a bit decomposed so I think you should repot it as soon as you can.
