Yellow Spots on Dendrobiums

Hello again! It's been a while and I've lost my phal along the way (RIP, my pretty) but this time we have another set of orchids that need help.

This is one of a pair of dendrobiums that we rescued from a neighbour. They've been through a lot (see the scaling and a couple dark spots in the photos) but the main concern right now are the yellow spots. They cropped up between last week and this week and my mother is understandably puzzled/worried about it.

What do you think is causing it? Also, I apologize for the poor focus in the last two photos but I hope the spots are clear enough.

I was wondering exactly the same thing. A couple of my dendrobiums, mostly, if not exclusively, latouria types, have developed yellow spotting on their leaves as well. Some say pest damage, others mineral deficiencies...I don't know what to think...

Dose them up on Epson salts and see it that helps, they may be lacking in magnesium. I occasionally get it on mine, but doesn't do them any harm as most dens are deciduous and drop leaves anyway. I usually find dosing them up with added Epson salts weekly for four weeks does the job. IMHO.

Ok, thanks. We'll do that and report in four weeks.

Hmmm. I'm hoping (in both our cases) it's a mineral efficiency since that's easier to treat. In my case, I'm a little hesitant to think it's due to pests since the dendrobium right next to it shows no signs of yellow spots. But we'll treat it and see.
