Spots on phal leaves
The two strong leaves of my phal have 3 or 4 black spots on them, up to 2cm across size. Is the plant doomed, or what can I do to cure it?

Guidance appreciated. Thanks, Peter

What type of black spots, are they growing? It could be rot or just sunburn. Pictures would help.

Sure, we need a picture, and also, is it oozzing something (if so, don't spread the liquid, trash it and clean your hand thoroughly) and is it spreading, and if so, fast or not?

Phal with black spots
Thanks for the responses. It could be sunburn, following its move about two months ago into a south-facing conservatory, but none of its phal neighbours have suffered similarly. The spots are not weepy but are spreading, despite my having soaked it in hydrogen peroxide. To protect the other plants, I have moved it to a room on its own. I fear the worst.

Sunburn does not appear as black spots, it starts out as paleness, rapidly changing to a beige, parchment-like appearance and texture.

Black on the surface is often a fungal infection, sometimes bacterial.
