It's laying eggs like a Stink bug! Darn things wiped out my zucchini this year!

I'm not familiar w/the bugs in your country but our Soldiers bugs are usually much more narrow (oblong) w/out that shield type shape so I would say Stink bug. But, like I said, I don't know the bugs in your country so it could be either...or even something else.

It looks like it's laying eggs on a non-plant item...as long as they don't mess w/my plants...I leave them alone.

yes caught in the act of laying eggs. i actually saw the same type of eggs hatched and the baby bugs are orange in color at first.

it would have been fine if it's a soldiers bug but you maybe right that it might be a stinky bug and somehow not all are beneficial. i hope they don't do damage to my chids.

We have bugs that look same just a different color than yours there and here they are stink bugs. Ours look the same except are a light brown or tan colorwith a green tinge and I've also seen green ones here which camoflauges them in foliage. So I vote its an orange colored stink bug

Can't really tell from the photo but I would say either a stink bug or some variety of assassin bug. Did it have a long needle-like proboscis (mouth) folded down underneath it? If so then it's an assassin bug and they're handy to have around

thats comforting to know. so far i don't see any harm done but I'll try to get a close-up photo the next time around to properly id the bug. they seem to be abundant in my growing area as i'm seeing eggs frequently. as of the moment grasshoppers and slugs is becoming a problem right now.
