Brown Spots on Phal

I noticed a few days ago that my Phal. 'Golden Dream' is getting some browning on its aerial roots. The plant itself seems to be in otherwise good condition, and the roots beneath the surface seem unaffected. My research has turned up contradictory results: I've been told it's a case of root rot, but I've also been told that this normal. The spots are rough and brown, resembling the bark it is growing in.

Regardless, when she is done flowering I am repotting her. In the meantime, is this truly normal, or do I have a more serious problem?

A picture would help a lot.

Root rot would be make the part touched a mess going to pieces.

Maybe it's only some fertilizer burn…

I have a noid Phal that has some browning on aerial roots as well, but it does not seem to bother the plant. That root remains upright and firm in my plant. My plant is actually vigorously in bloom since Feb 2012 with a brief rest and rebloomed on the old spike. I just continue to provide water as needed and good air circulation and the plant grows well. I would think as long as it does not go mushy or turns black, it should be okay.
