First Catt Mount

My LC Summer Christmas 'Maria' would not stay in its pot, wasn't doing well, and wasn't making any new growth, so I decided it was the perfect plant to experiment on. In retrospect, a healthy NoID might have been a better idea, but it seems to be going okay:

The pseudo bulbs need a bit of plumping up, they are looking a bit shrivelled at present.

Plump bulbs = healthy plant.

You should have seen them a while ago. This is an improvement, as is the new growth! I'm working on getting the pbulbs bigger. The one in back, that's not in focus, is quite plump but the front ones still have very poor roots.

Get plenty of Seaweed mix into them, it is full of hormones and has worked wonders for me.

It looks good, should start sending out new roots soon, I find they attach themself as fast as they can to feel secure.

Maria appears to like her new home. Way to go!!

A question regarding the shrivelled pbulbs.....I have my share of rescues that came to me in really bad shape....loss of roots....shrunk and shrivelled pbulbs.

I'm relatively new to orchids so I could be wrong but....In my experience so far....if it's an older growth and the roots from that growth(s) are gone...there's no plumping that one(or more) back up. It's only possible w/the newer growths that have viable roots and or close to a growth that has viable roots. Correct or incorrect?

Hope that made sense.

I have found that mounts for Catts works wonders! I have even started on a few Oncidiums to see if it will help, but unfortunately, I think I'm too late on these guys.
