But they are really nice "big ole green leaves"!! They sure look like they would love to be mounted.....

I've been considering mounting these two to save room for more orchids on the stand. Right now they share a clay pot and since they're finally thru blooming, I was planning on repotting them seperately. The narrow leafed Phal hasnt bloomed since I bought it in bloom while the other blooms every year. When do you think would be the best time to mount them? Should I stick with cork like I have my lil Dendro. hanging from or should I try a nice piece of firewood with good bark to try them on? I will be getting an all metal 5 tier shelving unit from lowes for Christmas this year. 5-Shelf Black Steel Wire Unit

lil' Den....

Poste Scriptum.........

If you look at the Phal, hiding behind the dead flower spike is my first basal kieki.

Heres an older photo close up of the two Phals.

My rule of thumb for mounting is if the plant wants to dry out, use cork. If the plant wants steady moisture, use tree fern. If it is a dry out species, use less sphag and if steady moisture, more sphag. Phals want steady moisture.
