Talking Newbie mounting Aerangis crypdoton...

Good morning and namaste!

I've been reasonably happy with my "orchid hospital" with new growth on most with happy greens and patience, patience....Anyway! I received a lovely 8-10 in. a.crypdoton in healthy condition in bark with two aerial roots and others in the pot.
I have let her rest from the journey and new home and have been wanting to give her a mounted home. Can I? Should I? I haven't been too successful finding info on this and the grower hasn't given me any direction on it either...
Sorry I don't have a camera to show it off..

Thank you and namascar!

I have not mounted that particular orchid but I look at it this way in nature they do not grow in pots. Several years ago I noticed that the orchids try to grow out of the pots and seem to bloom better after they get out there so I started mounting and was pleasently surprised by the results.

NeoOrchid,

Here's some info on Aerangis cyptodon.

IOSPE PHOTOS

I believe Aerangis belongs to the Vanda family, except that they don't require a lot of light.

I got some specie cats sat and am going to mount them later today or tomorrow. Since Fay is going inland may do them Wed. I do not have to move everything in so will have time.
