| Got bored
So I got boerd with my NOID Phals, so I decided to make an orchid tree. In addition to the six Phals, I also attached 9 assorted air plants and dried Spanish moss for effect.

Fantastic!! That's a great use for the NOIDS. Is it outside now? Hope you have a place for it in the winter--you get some pretty rough ones in Pa.

What an interesting concept, make for a great conservation piece. Is it an indoor or outdoor feature ??

That is really neat. I too had the same question. How you going to water it indoors come winter?

Very cool! Sure, it's going to look phaltastic in bloom, but it also looks terrific in 'leaf'!

I'll bring it in doors end of Sept so it has a chance to cool. as for watering it will get sprayed with the rest of the mounts (53 and counting, I better get a job soon)

I like the idea that it only takes one pot's worth of bench space. I really want to try one now so that I can make more room for my other plants, which ae becoming a bit crowded. you did a great job! I love to see orchids grown so naturally. Please continue to post pictures so we can see how spectacular it becomes each season.

LOOOOOOOOOVE it!! I was just recently discussing w/my husband the other day... a very similar type of multi plant mount...except maybe having one hanging from the ceiling (more horizontal than vertical) in the grow room somewhere. Where did you get the branch? Is it just something you picked up outside?

I love the way it looks and the way the chids are doing. Those broms like the tiger looking leaves at the bottom gives it an even more exotic look. Thanks.

Thanks all its still a work in progress as i find an odd ball here and there I add it to the tree hence the two new bulbo's they where two small divisions that I had left over.

Sorry...too funny...I have this vision in my head right now and well...again... BTW -- maybe not an official lumber jack but still pretty good at cutting down and pruning trees...not to mention loves watching those stupid lumber jack shows on TLC or whatever....my Jewish husband. Maybe I can I can send him over to help you out next time.

I wonder if it was all the tree house remarks? By the way just so you can get a better idea, it took a crane to get it off the house. |

Joe the plants on the mount look great ![]() I take it you wont need to join the lumber jack union ![]() you should have yelled out TIMBER so the house could move hehehehesorry Joe but your wife hid the saw ![]() |

OH NO!! Ok...that's bigger than my hubby would've tackled. Brave man you are for attempting it. But...I have to say...I'm with your wife...I'd hide that saw too. LOL!!!

Jbigio, probably a silly question (but then I'm full of these type of questions), when you brought your Orchid Tree into the house what kind of flooring do you have (carpet/wood/tile) and how do you keep your flooring clean and dry when watering your TREE ??? |
| |||
| The floor in the plant room look like wood but they are rubber that seals to each other giving you a water proof floor so I don't worry to much about the water on the floor and it loos just like a wood floor.
