first mount--suggestions, please

I am killing this orchid that I got from Jerry, Slc India Rose Sherwood 'Kiilani.' I have already lost one leaf/pseudobulb and all the roots appear to be dead so I decided to mount it. It is on a piece of smoke tree (cotinus) limb from a tree we cut down last year. The log is standing in a slanted position in an orchid pot. I am going to put it in my kitchen window (facing west) where I can see it more often and mist it more often.

Please tell me if I should make some adjustments to how I have it tied to the limb. Should I remove the tie from around the pseudobulb and just try to catch the roots instead? More moss?

Thanks!
Marcia

It looks good, except the tie you have on there looks like it might get in the way of new growth coming in on the big pseudobulb. I would slide the tie down a bit so that it is over the rhizome, and so that I can see the growth node or nodes on the bulb.

I agree with Aaron. It looks good, however! Just make sure to keep misting it! I know that Catts like to dry out, but if it has no roots you want to maintain a little moisture until it sprouts some new ones. Good Luck!

Thank you for the help. I've moved the tape to below the bottom leaf. There are some dead roots under the moss so that the tie can hold the plant to the bark.
