| Hwra. Lava Burst 'Puanani' AMA/OS on a stick
I hang the hook on a tree bark for the photosession but it stays indoors hanging by the corner of a 6inch vanda basket hooked on the ceiling by the wide southern window. It is an amazing feeling and a discovery that I can actually make orchids bloom. |

mine is a tiny little one in a pot, it was $8 and i plan on mounting it first thing in spring, yours look so healthy, i think the place i bought it from rotted its roots

sorry to hear about that Michael, but yes I felt the roots need to be free and since your plant is in a small pot it might rot if you overwater it(it needs to be moist but not stagnant)...I was lucky to have found a pear stick and a bit of moss...I made a concaved indentation with a pocket knife where I placed the crown of the plant...some plastic flat tape strips to tie it so it can breathe not constricted...the simbiotic relationship between the plant and the living moss is fantastic! ...you must alter your watering regime once it is hanging.

Great growing and beautiful little blooms, don't know how I missed this thread though, I guess that's what getting old does to you, you miss things sometimes Keep up the good work Anky & Mark
