made 2 new mounts

Hi everyone,
So I didn't mount the bigger Den. But I'd did mount 2 small ones well actually a tiny tiny one and a small one
Tiny on. Is a 2nd Den aphyllum '#3' x 'Halcyon' that fell off a small 2"x2" cork mount that also had a bigger one on it.
And the second mount it Den moniliforme a divison from rcb thank you
I decided to try out that Sagina moss irish. Even though its normally for ground cover. I wsashed out the potting media from some small pieces I was going to use. I put a pad of sphag on the mounts then the covered the roots with the sphag then placed a piece of the Sagina moss on the sphag around the Dens.
Any coments or advice or changes need be made let me know...
Pickys below (1,2,3, - Den aphyllum. 4,5,6- Den moniliforme)
Thanks
Emmaye

Mounts look great!

I would love to see your growing area.. It must be spectacular (based on that little sneak peak I see in the background)!

That looks really good Emm...it is a very attractive mount. I love the sagina moss. I have even seen mounts with just sheet moss too. It makes a nice pretty green carpet around the roots.

Good job!

Those look great, I'll be interested to see how that type of moss does.

I like that green moss. I am trying to grow some moss that I found while walking around the woods.

We'll up date: its staying green but its drying out. The every other day watering when the sphag moss dies out isn't enough for the other moss to keep. But I may leave it on, its still green in color and doesn't look horrible or anything. It it starts to deterioate and or change color, I will remove it from the mount (looks almost like a garnish of parsley right now but on the dry side lol) maybe I will use the rest as a out side plant pot topper

Thasts an idea.... I did scrape some from the shady side of the bricks in my yard and trying to grow a carpet and de bug it also. See how this moss goes later if I can grow it clean and bug free.
Good luck with your project "moss"

why not try a wicking system to the moss to stop it drying out - make a hole in the back of the wood feed a cotton wick through the hole - put the long end of the wick into a wine bottle full of water and you could tie the wood to the wine bottle to hide it.
