For Fun.

This morning I decided to mount a young Bl Morning Glory on an old terra cotta head I had. I think he looks quite dapper.

I used NZ sphagnum moss and fishing wire, he is quite sturdily attached.

Any thoughts? Let's see some fun things to cheer us all up!

Me too!

The inside is for water, so I will keep an eye that it gets proper moisture, that is all I am worried about.

Its def pretty cool, but I think you risk losing many of those exposed roots through the adjustment stage. You may want to cover up the xposed roots if possible...

lol -K-, it is 4:05 am here, I was laying in bed just wondering about this very same thing. The inside of the pot is a water receptacle, and, the moss has not dried almost at all, however, I think I am going to secure a bit more on top of the exposed roots, just to be sure. I probably should have put the moss on the outside. Added bonus to that is even more stability.

I think I made myself a project here, keeping an eye on it is going to be paramount. However, taking care of some other mounted plants does keep me vigilant as well. I think the best thing I can do is constant monitoring. If it works out, its going to be awesome.

-later-

You know, I should be in bed.....but I took your advice and wove in a few more strands of fishwire and moss here. Sleep can wait.

That should help, you don't want to lose those great roots! I know how much of a bear it is to try and mount plants with tons of roots that are unruly...a few lessons learned there...lol Since the mount will benefit from the additional evaporation based on your description that will also help. Will be interesting to see how you make out with it...
