Question Epidendrum whittrnii mounting question

Hi everyone,
Been doing some mounting tonight of some seedlings with new growth and new roots. This one has me stumped as to which way to put it on the mount. :don't know: I will leave it for now with one line (cat gut) holding it until I hear from you.
Thanks in advance. (Pics below plant is 2 inches tall)

Are you sure you want to mount it? The whittenii grows in a rainy area and having it mounted will require multiple waterings per hot day. It also grows quite large for your tiny little mount.

One of my first mistakes was mounting this type Epi on cork. It grew great but no blooms. I finally stuck the mount into a big pot with lava rock to hold more moisture and it bloomed like crazy. These are water hogs.

Thank you Brooke,
I will put it back in its pot
Good to know these get big and are water hogs.
I didn't find much culture on this one and think I saw a pic of one mounted a while ago so thought I'd try it. But its going back into it pot right now.
Thanks again
