Dylan is on a distinguished road
how to care for orchids

My mom is on a trip in the Philippines and she's gonna bring me back 3types of orchids (Dendrobium,Phalaenopsis, and an ugly type that has strange leaves)
I'm gonna mount them, but I'm not sure how to care for them, how much light do they need, and stuff......
I live in a Middle-Eastern-Khaliegi country so I don't know if they would last long?

I brought a Cattylya with me this summer and mounted it, now it' spurplish brown so I'm scared that that might happen to the new commers

Dendrobium is a very large genus, over 1000 species and thousands of hybrids. There is no one culture for all dendrobiums. It will depend on what kind they are. When you get them let us know what kind they are and we can help you from there.

For phalaenopsis cultural info go to the orchid care section fo this forum and read the phalaenopsis culture sheet there or go to AOS | Members Only Area and read the phal culture sheet there. After you've read them let us know if you have questions.

If you give your orchids the culture/conditions they require you will be able to grow them without difficulty.
