Clash of the Noids

I made this mount with out-of-bloom mark downs. I have learned a lesson. They have each rebloomed separately. Then they both spiked at once. I couldn't recall the purple one exactly, but knew I was in for a real clash of colors. They are both pretty in their own way, but they don't really complement each other. They are well established now so I really don't want to mess with them. I thought I might add a couple other noids and just have a medley.

I alternated between shots with/without flash. Flash ones seemed to have better clarity. Tricky as it is so close to the pool; and narrow. Didn't want to go in with camera in hand!

The mount is great, and the flowers are very pretty. I can't grow dendrobiums for some reason.

But didn't you mean, "Revenge of the Noids"?

Sorry, that's the first thing that came into my head. Enjoy your blooms, and thanks for sharing!

i'm pretty much design-challenged, so i love doing things like this! i love it when you see orchids potted/planted together that are a completely different color. call me weird, i guess. i'm planning to do something similar with my xmas cactuses....i have 5 different colors and i plan to take a couple cuttings of each color and plant them all together in one pot. that way, when they bloom, rather than being all one color, i have spots of each one

Tangers, we'll look forward to the pict. of your combined Christmas Cactus. Mine is suffering severe neglect. If I don't get cracking, I won't see any blooms.

i'll post pics when i get it done back when i only had 3 colors, i did the same thing for a pot for my mom. she said it's rather interesting when they bloom like that. but it seems xmas cactuses are the one thing i can grow well. i can't seem to kill them wish i could say the same thing for orchids......

G'day Imartiny

What clash, you can't mess beauty like that up even if you try.

Cheers

I learned in 15 plus years of taking watercolor classes, sometimes the best paintings happen from mistakes or accidents. I think your mount is fabulous and the 2 dens look great together. I wouldn't mess with success. You have a very creative eye and you use it well. Enjoy it!

Thanks everyone. I may look at the mount and see if there is a spot to add another. Not while it is blooming though.
Phalaphila, not that it has much to do with "Revenge of the Noids" but we watched an odd movie last night. It was like a spoof on life in the movie business. It had a lot of big stars. I always like Robert DeNiro; and Bruce Willis was cast as a quite an A__ Hole. It was kinda of weird. Like a touch of Tarantino weird.
