driftwood

I plan on mounting a few of my orchids. Is driftwood a good choice for a mount? Is there anything I need to do treatment wise with it before mounting?

I love the look of driftwood for mounts. Here is a thread with some advice I got, regarding treating driftwood.

Treating mount wood

I did soak it in a large tub of water with bleach for several days, and then clean water for several days. I haven't used the driftwood yet. I thought I'd wait to see what lived through winter .

When I prepare drift wood I soak it to remove any salt, changing the water often then I soak it in clorox and RD 20 for a week to kill any unwanted visitors. It works for me and I use drift wood at times.

I've used pieces of driftwood. I threw mine in the pool for a couple of days. Then let it sit in the weather for a few days.
