New mounts

Here are a couple of the mounts I've done recently. The neo seems to like it; though you can't see it in these photos, it's starting a new growth and some new roots. The other one is a Dendrobium malvicolor, and it too has new growth.

Very interesting mounts you've found there. If I were and orchid, I'd like it too.

They look absolutely beautiful!!! It's great when orchids look as pretty when not in flower as they do in flower.

Very artistic approach you have gone for, I might attempt some myself when I finish the monolith in the backyard.

I am looking for interesting ways to display my babies.

I love the mounts!

Are those grapewood? Also, the dend is mounted to the underside of the mount? How often do you water the dend? Thanks.

Just beautiful. You do have a very artistic eye. Like your floral display win this month. It does look like old grape vine. Is that correct?

Thanks, everyone! The neo is on grapewood root; the dendro is on mopani wood. The dendro hangs (see the hook on the top) but can also sit; it gets watered as often as it takes to keep it moist, usually about once a day (it's been dry here). The neo is tension mount; that is, its roots and sphag hold it in place without being tied down. I used nylon quilting thread on the dendro mount.

I love those mounts and the chids look happy. Mounting like that does make your plants into art.

So pretty. I love them. I just bought a bunch of grape wood for mounting after yours. They just arrived. Hope I do as good of a job as you.
