Help needed with Lighting

I just recieved a Rhy. retusa last week. It says that the light requirements are "bright filtered light". Does anyone know how that translates into footcandles? Also, is there a reference anywhere that gives the equivalent of light readings for these things..like bright light, partial shade, and so forth?

3000 foot candle for blooming. 4000 for vegetative growth. don't go beyong 5000 , they
grow slower and dont bloom well. To initiate blooming , withheld water for about 3 months.
(your roots will shrivel and sorry looking state)

Andy's Orchids says bright is about 3000 fc

It is easier to follow with numbers. Can't go wrong with a light meter.
It is just confusing when they say bright light, filtered light.....3000fc is 3000fc...
without shadow, fuzzy shadow....
Plus sunlight intensity raise and fall. peak at noon time difficult to control lightning..
When you off to work, can't put extra shade cloth over it.Just let it be 2500 to 3000 fc
