| This one really liked S/H!!!
This is my Maxillaria tenuifolia I bought last Spring at the local grower. It was sitting in a tiny pot with few pieces of bark. It was not doing anything at all for a long time. It separated into three plants when I was repotting it (!!??). There were no roots left to speak of. I just pushed it into S/H hoping to see something happening with it later. Here we are ..... ![]() You can see the old PBs so dry and the leaf is so wrinkeled and the new ones growing so plumb.... ...![]() I am so happy to see something like that, just wanted to share.... Thank you, orchidea! I found this thread when I was looking for advice for my new max. tenufolia, which looks much like yours, with wrinkly lower bulbs which do not want to fill out. I just unpotted it, and although there are not many roots, new ones are growing. It separated itself into two plants, so I think I will put one of them into S/H and see how they grow. They were in a fine bark mix, but I will use a bark/fiber mix I use for oncidiums and see how that goes. It seems to hold moisture well, and I know they don't like to dry out.
