Paph armeniacum potted in rock

I have a Paph armeniacum potted in rock and leca, but it's in a regular pot. Would it be possible for me to stick the pot in a larger deli cup to make a reservoir around the pot so I can just run it semi hydroponically? Or should I just repot it into pure S/H? It's seedling size.

I've had mine for a few years potted in bark with many new growths but no blooms. It's now in pure LECA in a regular pot with holes in the bottom. However, before I filled it I put a plastic tray on the inside as an insert instead of sitting it in the tray. Either way is OK but I don't lose the tray this way. It took just fine to the s/h (old roots rotted and new roots took over). Still hasn't bloomed. Guess I haven't figured out what it needs to bloom yet. It's in a cool area and no fert from Dec to Feb. I'm still waiting! Does yours bloom!?
Anyone got any suggestions on this brat?

I'd recommend conventional culture for this orchid although in the wild it does sometimes grow on limestone rocks with some forest deterius so SH may work well for this species. Paph armeniacum is one of the "Chinese paphs" a member of the Section Parvisepalum. They grow slowly and require a cool winter to flower. Here in Melbourne Australia we grow them outdoors in winter where it gets down to 5-10C (40-50F). When it's cool they should be kept drier than usual (not sure how to adjust that requirement for SH). In the wild the often only get dew in the winter. The typical causes for not being able to flower them are 1) no cool, dry winter, or 2) insufficient light.
