To add here are some Phal species that I have or had in the past that all carried a fragrance. They are amabilis, leuddemanianna, mariae, bastianii, cornu cervi, fasciata, certain varieties of hieroglyphica, corningiana, gigantea, lowii mannii, modesta, pantherina, speciosa, stuartiana, sumatrana, wilsonii and zebrina.
Probably the most fragrant ones are Phal bellina, violacea, mariae,a few select clones of lueddemanniana, and corningiana. Their frangrance carries very well over into they hybrids. The best one I think I ever smelled is Phal corningiana but it is very difficult to grow. But when in bloom the flower along with the fragrance is a heart stopper! I had one a few years back that I lost in the greenhouse, they are very rare.
