Enc. update

So far so good! The new growth has grown a little and I think it's doing great. Not to much to report other than that! Oh yeah, I added a skewer to this too!

That little growth has gotten quite a bit bigger. It's about three times the size in the previous picture but it is behind behind a p/b. The other new growth is still growing well, no new root yet that I have notice though.

I have another update and I am so excited about it, lol! (am I really cheesy or what lol!) The two new growths are just moving right along! I still don't see any new roots though, they must be under the mix. I trimmed off the old dead ones that were growing around the top of the soil and p/b. The first picture is the was tiny 2nd new growth and the other picture is the plant but you see the 1st new growth (just below the first p/b) and how big it has gotten in this picture!

Here is my update, it is still growing well I don't know how the roots are doing though. When I went to the hospital the new growths kinda stalled but I think they have started to pick back up! Sorry the pictures are so crappy the flash was on, lol! But you get the idea.

In your Bc. Little Stars thread you said you lost and Enc. Did you lose a different one or did I get lost?

I have been very surprised at the growth rate on this group of Enc. Even the mounted ones have added 1-2 new pseudobulbs.

I think the grower had not sold last years crops and the ones we bought were a year older than normal for the size. I have some outgrowing a 4 inch pot.

I have flowered these much smaller than this so it should be a good season. They always bloom around Mother's Day.

The registered name of the cross is Enc Nursery Rhyme.

Wooooohoooooo! I'm anticipating it! I just hope this is enough light for it. It looks like it should be:-) the p/bs are pretty dark in a few spots.

Wow its been 6 mos since my last update on this plant. I never got any blooms I think it was a combination of things: moving, acclimating, a few weeks of neglect over the last six months, etc. But it has grown quite a bit and I just kicked it outside in a basket last night so hopefully it fares well. It's still in the original pot I got it in from Jerry. When I got it most of the roots were toast and it now has an extremely well developed root system yay! It has grown so much since I got it! Grabdma penguin's bloomed just in time for our society's spring show! Maybe mine will next year! I'm just glad for so much growth so far and the root system making a huge comeback yay! So here are the pictures. O I forgot it had two new growths before winter and one new one so far this year.

Update: still hasn't bloomed, did a repot after I brought it back in when fall started. It looks about the same size as i the last picture only becsue within the last two weeks it lost its 2 largest leave thanks to under watering it. It has 5 old growths and a new one i have spotted today that is really tiny.

I find that my Encyclia is one of the toughest orchids I have. I only have one but it has been to hell and back and is still growing.
