Kmarch, I will put them on my next shopping list. I'm still trying to figure out the Catts. Any suggestions on which Paph. are good for a beginner? Not doing so good with the Catts. as it is.

My Paphs grow beautifully on my east facing windowsill. I think good ones for beginners (I am one) are the Maudiae types and sukhakulii. I have a sukhakulii x Oriental Spice that is growing like mad! I love Paphs, once you get started it will be hard to stop!

I don't see the Cymbidium that I sent.

Sorry, I have not added the new ones I got from you Jenny or the ones from Little Monster yet. I just finished potting the last of them today. I will add them on by tomorrow. Promise. I also ordered a few more orchids from e-bay that I will add once I get it.

I am soooo envious, but in the nice way; I wish I had your skill and expertise (and space!) to grow such a large and beautiful collection. Every time I see your avatar, I swoon a little. As for paphs - it's a little funny to hear someone with your large and gorgeous collection asking about them, since they're supposed to 'easy' orchids for rank beginners like me! |

Really? I tried a couple of paphs. in the past and they died. I thought they were hard to grow. I too am new to orchids. The only ones I've grown successfully are the Cymbidiums and a few here and there I've had for several years that I haven't managed to kill. The question is can I keep all the newly purchased ones alive long enough to put in the GH that is being put up. That's the other problem. My husband it putting it up, sooooo I have a long wait. I will be getting some Phals. real soon. promise. Jenny, I'm adding the Cym. you gave me now to the list.

Now I'm envious. A red sports car! I'm having a visitor from this forum on Saturday already. You are welcome to visit. Just let me know. Of course the GH is not up yet.

Hello, I need help with my orchids. I bought baby orchids in Tailand and they came in a glass bottle. When it was time to take them out of the bottle, I put them in a vase in orchid substract and buried the roots. After 4 days more or less I notice that they shouldn't be buried and so I put them on top of the substract on vases. I read that they also need plenty sun and humidity so I put them on the sill of a window that receives direct sun until 1pm more or less and started to spray on top of them with water. These days the sun isn't coming out at all (only few second/minutes sometimes). I think that they're dying and I don't know if it's because they're receiving little sun, or because before they were buried or else. Can you please help me... Thanks in advance. |
