Orchid so far...

Here is a list of the orchids I have so far.
Funny story goes along with the last on the list. My beautiful wife likes to tease me about how I have been bitten by the "orchid bug". We went to a local nursery to get some herbs and such for the gardens this spring. We went in and I saw the orchids from the door. I swerved the cart toward them, intending to just look at what they had... They had quite a collection of phals, and some oncidiums potted up in "special arrangements". Very pretty. Then Mary said "look to your left." I did and there were more! Cybindiums and others I didn't know. I went over there and was looking at them. Then she said, "look behind you." More orchids! On another table was the Vuylstekeara Melissa Brianne "Tawny Tart" AM/AOS. I looked at the price of it, and it was on $20 US. A deal I thought, since it had the most striking deep purple (with yellow center) flowers. I picked it up just to look at it, and my beautiful teasing wife says, "You don't have one like THAT! Go ahead and buy it!"
I thought this was a really good thing, then I realized something.
"Mary are you going to tease me about buying this orchid?" I asked.
"That's part of the fun of it isn't it?", she answered.

So I got the orchid, and she gets to tease me, and enjoy the beautiful flowers when they are in bloom. We both love them, and it sure beats buying cut flowers that just die. At least with the orchids I get to have them bloom for me again and again. (Only rarely do I kill one.)
