Good things come to those who wait!

As for me, I'm waiting for my delenatii and my Ho Chi Minh to BLOOM! They're blooming size now and so they should get around to blooming some time...any time....hopefully this winter when I let them get cold. I also have the other parent of Ho Chi Minh, which is Paph vietnamense, but these plants are only seedlings so I probably have another 2-3 years to wait for them to bloom. But hopefully what I said for you will be true for me too, good things come to those who wait.

Jenny

I was just looking at all the lists and just now saw that you updated your list!

You more than doubled your orchid collection!! Where are you putting these??
You said you put them near a window, do you have them on racks or what? How do you keep your humidity up?

I also have increased my collection. I have to stop....don't I?...Probably not!

You have two Paphs now don't you? How is that new one doing? I talked to Jerry this week and am getting another Paph, Maudiae hybrid the green one! He also said he had 2 more like what he sent you only BIGGER! I am thinking!!

You need more Paphs, I love Paphs, they are my favorites!

Joe~ I know! It's such a bummer too. I so have my eyes laid on a Celtic Frost. Waiting for the moment and making sure I can care for it. Scarry thoughts raced my mind after Kevin had his Masdie Meltdown.

April~All of my babies are on a rack or chest that sits by an East window. Humidity has been the biggest battle in my apartment. It usually runs in the 40's with the temp in the upper 70's, making it dry. Sahara desert like is what I call it. Well I mist, use pebbles trays, and with the medium drying out faster, I water more frequently. Here lately I had to increase my watering to 3x a day and misting up to the same frequency. I'm hoping things will calm down soon. It usually does late spring when things get more humid.

As for the new Paph, GO FOR IT!!! I won't stop you.
Hehehhe, Yeah Jerry said all three were real monsters, we were worried about getting one into a box. Absolute monsters.

Patti~ Ho Chi Minhs are just way cool. But alas, mine didn't bloom. It skipped out on me. I think it was from the move. We'll see, maybe later on or next year. Real bummer, but at least I got pretty foilage to look at

You are a bad influence on me! See my new Paphs thread to see what I ordered from Jerry.

I also gave him a wish list for Phrags and more Paphs!

I think it is hilarious when growers from back east or midwest think 40% humidity is bone dry! 50% is the max I can obtain with humidifiers and pebble trays and that will drop considerably with summer coming. My orchids have adapted just fine and since there is nothing I can do about it I stopped messing with it.

BTW - Jenny is a bad influence on everyone.

Hey now.. I try very very hard to keep my addiction in check. (I'm such a liar here ) I can't help it if others follow suit. I have begun my (cough, clears throat) "temporary hiatus" from purchases....(lying to myself again here, LoL)

Besides, what's one more going to hurt ?

I told my husband about my new purchases, and he said again, that I don't have THAT much space, and that I DID'NT need to fill up all the space in the house!

I will try to stop, I will try to stop.....I will..........

I have one or two...more Paphs that I am sure I REALLY need!

Here is the culture sheet from the AOS website

Celtic Frost is a warm grower. This is a big plus for me.
