If I didn't keep up with this list I think I would go mad. I know without it I would have duplicated ones I already have and wasted money. This list is invaluable when I am shopping at an orchid show.

I do have several where the tags have either fallen out or gone missing. Having the list though will help me ID them once they bloom. Then I can write them up another tag.

Thanks for the compliments!

Oh, you don't even know, Shann!! I was all worried about what my husband would say if I got that many new orchids, and yesterday he came home with a brand new mountain bike. "What's the big deal," you say?

Well, he's a serious cyclist, and his bikes cost a few K. Of course I told him that's why he was being so nice about the 'chids, cause he wanted the new bike. (Not true, he's just a cool guy), but I rode that pony for all it was worth. I said, "Well, it looks like I have more shopping to do to catch up with THAT purchase!" And as soon as I'm done here, that's what I'll do. I already placed an order for a couple hundred pots of various sizes from Calwest... its a SHOPPING SPREE!!!

A few K!! You know how many orchids I could buy for a few K!? Can you imagine what Carmela's would do if i bought that deal say 17 times for roughly $1000!! That would mean somewhere along the lines of 425 chids. I think their site only shows around 170 different Catts though so that would mean a lot of duplicates.

A couple hundred pots you say?! That is a lot of repotting in your future.

I like them all! I do prefer species but will never turn down a pretty hybrid. I am almost afraid to count how many I have now...it is getting intimidating!

I think it was some time back that I counted the number of orchids on your list and you were nearing 200. Have you counted recently to know what you are up to?

Shann, You and I could have one whale of a great show together! Virtually all of the plants in your list are different from my brood. Once upon a time, I had an organized list. Then, I purchased a new pc and the list slid....Maybe, around Dec, when things slow down a bit....

I was scared to count honestly...but I went ahead and did a quick count. I know I am over 325 but am not 100% on the number. I have a few Oncidium types to add and then I am going to perform a thorough recount to see what has died that I overlooked in the past year. The list needs some TLC to be sure.

I got that one on Ebay if I remember correctly. If I find one for sale I will PM you.

I do think we would have a whale of a time!

The first time I went to an orchid show was when I realized I needed a list. I would have duplicated and wasted money on buying several of the same thing if I didn't have that list. It has been a tremendous help to me...especially if a tag goes missing!

I actually need to update my list one more time...hopefully I can get to that today.

Thanks all,
Shann~

I am officially inspired! Since I only have about 30 now, and 25 coming hopefully tomorrow, I will start my list.

Plus, there is a show coming up next month that I am definitely going to, and your idea about no duplicates makes sense. I already have 2 Bllra Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' and 2 Sedirea japonica, so I can avoid more dups. (I actually duplicated those on purpose cuz I almost killed the originals.)

Shann, thank you! We are definitely learning from the QUEEN!!

Looks like they arrived sooner than you thought! The list will come in handy...believe me! I am happy you are pleased my minion.

I have been forgetting to add these Brassia and Oncidium types that I have had for awhile. Some are rescues. I decided to pot them all up in my stalite and so far they are handling it very well. A couple have bloomed...one of the NOID's is about to bloom also.

Holy orchids Batman, Er, I mean Shann My growlist is only one of your red additions and alas it is not going to grow anytime soon. I have to hurry with this post, stupid router has already booted me offline twice this morning. I have to say that it looks as if you could start your own orchid store, Oh Encyclia Queen Sorry I haven't been on the forum lately, big troubles for Greybeard and dumb router Anyhow if you keep adding to that list of yours you'll be sleeping with orchids Very impressive and humbeling growlist I think I'll just go stand in a corner
