Encyclia Atronecium questions...

Hey everyone.... Has anybody bloomed their Project Encyclia yet? I've got huge fat Psuedobulbs but haven't had any blooms from it yet. Just wondering if I need to change up my lighting... Mine's growing in S/H and is probably my healthiest plant.

Nope, mine hasn't bloomed yet either. It is doing well though; the pseudobulbs are nice and round, it has a decent root system, and the leaves are healthy. Just waiting for some action, here. I've got mine in a bark mix.

PS: Guess I didn't address your lighting question. It's a companion to L. purpurata, Lc. Ken Battle, Blc. Copper Queen, B. Little Stars, and also an Onc. Gower Ramsey, all of which have flowered for me under the same amount of light in the last few months. They're under a 400 watt metal halide light. I would wonder too if lighting needs to change, orif they just need another year to grow.

It may be a matter of the plants needing to get very pot bound. I only have about a dozen left but every on on a wood mount (about 6) has flowered and only 2 in pots (of about 6).

The potted plants have grown consierably larger than the mounted ones. For these I think is just a matter of time.

The registered name of this hybrid (it is crossed with cordigera) is Enc Nursery Rhyme.

Mine is doing ok. It has a spike (small) that's just been sitting there. I'll post a pic. when I get home from work. I'm hoping that the warm spell coming up will give the spike a nudge...
