Two Babys from America arrived

Hi All.
I went to our local clubs monthly meeting last night to hear top guest speaker Sam Tsui from Orchid Inn USA give a wonderful talk on growing Multi-Floral Paphiopedilums.
He bought over these two wonderful present for me.
Both are exhibition type green flowering Paphiopedilums.
I have been chasing this colour for many years.
Cheerio

How cool! From the names, I'm guessing that they're in the green family? That's really cool... I hope the talk was good, too. Where abouts is Orchid Inn located in the US? I don't think I've heard of them. Keep us posted on the babies!

OMG Ron, I know Sam!!! He's (IMHO) probably one of the top 5 or so Paph breeders. Excellent choice to buy from him.

That's great. I bet they are going to be beautiful! I hope I get to see them blooming. 3-5 years is a long time but worth the wait. Congrats on getting the gifts that you really wanted.

Ron,

Those are very nice gifts! Waiting up to 5 years for them to bloom, that's quite awhile.

Hi, it was good to hear Sam speak on his growing methods.
With some of the tips he passed on maybe able to get them to flower quicker.
Good chance to try them out.
Warmth, humidity and plenty of fresh air.
I will see how it all works out.

Cheerio

Update on the flasks.

Hi All. Update on the flasks.

..

These are going on to 5 months old now, most putting on new growth!
While they were not big plants when I de-flasked them, they have nearly all survived.

Will repot them in spring this year. (Aussie Time)

Ron

They look great, Ron! Because of this thread, I got my flask from Sam! Mine are doing well also. Mine are Paph. fairrieanums so the leaves are different. It's pretty exciting, eh? Thanks for the update! Keep up the good work!

Hi Anton.
Kevins post gives the colour.
Green and perhaps a few yellows.
Wally Rhodes of NSW grows these types and they are beautiful!

Just love to have a few in flower, not long to wait now. 4 1/2 years
Cheerio

You have green, and you have green...DOH !

I have seen several different varieties of green Kevin, I have a Maudiae green and a more yellowy green Paph myself.

That's like saying I have a green car.

Why do I bother.........?

Ask a simple question ......................
