| Phal NOID aka Magic Kiss Pod developments
Well we are in I think week three now. The other pod fell off during the two week hospitalization drought. But this one is doing great so far.

Thanks! This is my second try at pollinating. The first time i didn't even put the pollinea on the stigma, lol! I was having a guess at it and nothing happened. I think it's safe to say I did a lot better job of getting the pollinea on the stigma this time around, lol!

Fter the cios meeting with Erich Micheal I don't think I can handle it. He has bought all the flasks from hoosier orchids so he said he will be very busy for the next year working with all of those deflasking and such. He said after that he would be more than happy to help me do it. But I don't know if I should wait and have him help me for the experience or find somewhere to ship it off too. I have about 6 mos left to my degree and am seriously thinking of going for biology and doing something like what he or Dr. Glicenstein does. What a dream come true right, lol!

Dream come true indeed I don't know if I would worry about waiting if you can't, and you could store some seed to take up Erich on some instruction. My flasking was trial and error for a while. Had decent success kitchen flasking/sowing over steam, but ran into problems when it was time to re-plate. I've since bought a laminar which has made things easier for sure, but still run into some issues. It's all a learning experience so I don't get too upset over infected re-plates; that's why you make dozens of them  Cool, I know Erich from back when I was going to the Cincinnati judging center to get into the AOS student program. Ask him if he remembers the long haired guy that came with Christine Chowning a few years back. I've since fathered 2 boys so there is little time on the weekend for trips to Ohio so i gave up on AOS. The times I observed at his table during judging, i was always impressed by him. Knows his orchids for sure. Last time I saw him/Hoosiers was at the 2006 GCOS show at the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati I bought some great Masdies! Took home a few ribbons on orchids in our society display to boot. Sadly...I think that was the last show I was able to go to since my new hobby started walking and talking.
