What should i expect from mini Den Thai Ruby

Hi, i deflask a bottle of 'Thai's Ruby' mini den. last weekend and can't find any information on how long/ big before its first bloom etc. Can anyone who ever growth mini dendrobium share their experience?

It is more for experiment than actual addition to my collection as i normally prefer seedling flask to TC flask.

I am sure others here will chime in and give you a better estimate...but most orchids rom flask to mature blooming takes around 4-7 years....it depends on what type and growing conditions.

I was hoping that since it is mini and deflasked seedling is already 3 inches in size. Might not be far from blooming height.

The correct name of your orchid is: Den Thai Ruby. I do not know what the seller considers "mini" but I don't think I'd call this Dendrobium a "mini." If the plants you have are about 3 inches long I'd expect it will be 3-5 years before they flower.

It came from Thailand. Very bad with naming. It is a new hybrid hence the word
mini . I suspect it is a unregistered hybrid as with lots of Thai orchid.

It all depend on what kind of growing environment , you give it. HDB with partial sunlight or artificial lighting or Open garden with shade. Commercial grower
take 2 years for mini Dendrobium to bloom.

Thanks. I will put all onto one big piece of fern bark and hang them somewhere once its root is well extended into it.

put into a rectangle plastic tray with small charcoal (you can hammer yourself or
bought it from Far East Flora). save the fern bark for something else.

But i wanted a hanging piece. Hahahahaha. I would still have some on pinebark for trading once i am done settling them down.
