| Yeah when you cut a phal right above the first nonsheaving leaf that does not form a bud it makes the orchid think it has lost it flower so it regrows it it works for all orchids i have tried it with.

You mean all the phals you've tried it with, right? This technique doesn't work for other orchids.

| BlakeeBoo, I'm sorry, but you're not correct about dendrobiums re-blooming off the same inflorescence. They simply don't do that like a phal does. Some will bloom again off the same cane but not the same inflorescence. I suspect you don't have other orchids that have rebloomed off a cut flower spike as you claim because that's something other orchids (other than phals) simply don't do. If you're confused on your terminology (cane, inflorescence, etc) let us know and we'll try to help. Many members and non-members look to this forum for useful, accurate info on orchids. It's a member's responsibility to be helpful and provide correct info. That's not to say we all must know everythign before posting. None of us knows it all and we all ask questions and learn from each other. Before posting, please take the time and effort to make sure the info you pass on is correct.

| Correct. Incorrect. This is the most entertaining thread I have seen on an orchid discussion in quite a while. However, the Mods are only correcting because the information needs to be accurate and correct for those of us who wander in for the correct info. ![]() Just trying to help with any possible friction.
