Check out my 3 new flasks! Could be very interesting flowers?

I just deflasked 3 new hobby flasks from Ebay (If anyone is interested in the source private me). They seem to be very creative combinations, but I guess I have to sit back and wait now

Awesome!!! I can't wait to see the results. I LOVE hybridizing! It's so interesting. The first cross looks especially interesting. A cross from it might have to be crossed back to the one parent in order to accheive the fringed lip. I maybe wrong, since I've never crossed with orchids before. It looks like you'll have some great plants, regardless!

Patti I think you are right on track. The pros I have talked to state the produce of the first cross will more than likely have a very ruffled lip, but no cilliation (sp?... fringe). I am also hoping the C. violacea cross gets the cultural ease of it's Schomburkia parent as I have not had success with violacea (but love it)

Maxx - your flasks look much like a new flask I just received. Same bottling with the wax paper like cover over the stopper. I'd bet they are from the same person. Mine too is going to be an unusual cross.

Wow! Those are some interesting hybrids. Its a shame it takes so long to go from flask to flower. I cant wait for my Catt I just crossed to go to pod so I can send it to be flasked. I've been wanting to get a cheap flask of something just to practice deflasking & raising the baby chids in preperation for my own cross but I have to worry about having enough room for my own. Decisions...Decisions....

Vivienne~ yeah it sounds like the same source... they were flasks that he did not sell at WOC/Miami so they even had the parent photos on the flask... nice touch

exasperatus~ I purchased a flask from ebay to prepare for my first seed pod/flasking years ago. 3 years into it I realized the ^%$#@ seller sent me a crap Bl. Morning Glory instead of the C. intermedia v.coerulea that I ordered! Now I have poor examples of Morning GLory all over the place! So watch who you do business with!!! BTW I use Meyers Conservatory for flasking (Meyers Conservatory ) They are very professional and if it's a documented species (or primary hybrid, I think) the first flasks are free!

Those are very interesting mix. I can hardly wait to see the offsprings. But then that won't be for another 2-3 years. That's a long wait.

Yep Maxx - must be the same person. My dad picked up my flask at the WOC.

Sounds fun, especially the Schomburgkia crosses.
